‘Paula strives to provide an excellent service to her clients … her work was of an exceptionally high standard.’ TP, AIMS Accountants for Businesses.
Your work is very important to me, and so I offer a personal, professional and non-judgemental proofreading, writing and editing service to make your work stand out, not your mistakes!
I specialise in science and business, working with publishers, businesses, professionals and students.
My proofreading service includes a spelling, punctuation and grammar check with ‘light touch’ advice on sentence structure.
My copyediting service provides a spelling, punctuation and grammar check together with a review of sentence structure and style. For fiction copyediting, my service also includes pickups on inconsistencies (my genre is children and young adults).
For students, I offer a hybrid proofreading and copyediting service, commonly known as ‘proof-editing‘. I also offer a Reference List checking service.
For fiction editing, I am a SfEP trained copyeditor and proofreader. I’m afraid I don’t offer developmental editing at this stage in my career. I specialise in fiction for young adults and children.
When it comes to technical writing and copywriting, I produce engaging and plain language content for business documents, social media postings and websites. As a touch typist, I can also speedily type up your written work or audio recording and then proofread it for you.
I mainly work in MS Word (using the track changes function), but I have worked on pdf documents too. I am happy to consider any other media.
As every piece of work can be different, I provide a no obligation quote for each client and a student discount is available. All of my work is carried out online. Please also pop over to the My Work Portfolio page to see who I have worked for and check out my Reviews page to read my clients’ feedback.
I have been trained to help students and professionals with additional support needs such as dyslexia. As an Intermediate Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, I work to their Code of Practice.
